About two years ago whilst off work on long term sick leave from work, to stop the boredom of having nothing to do i trawled the internet, i looked up on Google "Leeds United".
I came accross a site called Leeds United world and on here i got my first taste of Leeds United fans forums. I looked on the forum and i saw that everyone had a pseudonym, which gave them a differant identity.
So i decided to log in with a name of something to do with Leeds United and for some unknown reason i plucked out of thin air the name "Mark Aizlewood's middle finger".
Mark Aizlewood was a midfield player that joined Leeds from Charlton Athletic in February 1987 for a fee of £200,000. He played 81 times for the whites scoring 4 goals.
Now Mr Aizlewood never really endeared himself to the Elland road crowd and in the final home game of the 88-89 season (i think it was Walsall), he scored a header from a corner at the kop end. Now he had been receiving some verbals from the kop that day and his goal celebration turned out to be a two fingured gesture to the fans in the kop.
He was immeadiately stripped of the captaincy and was then sold on to neighbours Bradford City.
Anyway, back to the forum stuff, it became quite a chore to type out Mark Aizlewood's middle finger everytime and it was from a reply to a thread that i received, somebody called me MAMF, and so i decided that from then on MAMF it would be.
So now you know where the old MAMF thing came from, Oh, and the "4", it is paying homeage to the shirt number that he wore during his spell at Leeds.
